According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people ages 10 to 14 and 15 to 24 in the United States. In 2023, 20% of U.S. high school students reported serious thoughts of suicide. These are not just statistics. They represent young people who need hope, encouragement, and support.

This mission is deeply personal to me.

Almost a decade ago, while training to become a pediatrician, I cared for children and teens in the hospital and intensive care unit following suicide attempts. It was heartbreaking to see young person after young person arrive in crisis. As I stood alongside the medical team working to save their lives, I heard a voice inside me say:

“Jasmine, you are called to more. You are called to reach these children before they ever get here. You are called to remind them that they have purpose, that their lives are worth living, that they are loved, and that they are supported.”

That moment changed my life. It led me to become an author and create a youth empowerment book series centered on hope, resilience, purpose, and encouragement. Since then, I have led two national youth empowerment tours, reaching more than 2,000 youth and young adults across the country. Our books and curricula have been translated into Swahili and Korean and have reached children internationally. We have also partnered with schools, YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs, community centers, barbershops, salons, churches, and youth-serving organizations to share a positive and powerful message of hope. Our last national tour took place before the pandemic. Now, we are excited to return to the road through the Life Is a Battle and WE WILL WIN Youth and Family Empowerment Book Tour.

Our bold mission is to place 50,000 books into the hands of youth and young adults. Each book includes relatable stories, interactive activities, and practical resources centered on hope, resilience, self-efficacy, and determination.

Our message is simple but life-changing:

Even when life is hard and feels like a battle, YOU WILL WIN. Do not give up. You are loved. You have purpose. You are not alone.

We are seeking sponsors who will help us reach our goal of distributing 50,000 books. As a sponsor, you will receive a bulk order of books and may choose one of two options:

1) Have the books shipped directly to your organization to distribute to youth and young adults in your community -OR-

2) Have our tour team distribute the books on your behalf to young people at tour stops and partner organizations across the country.

Sponsorship packages also include meaningful marketing and promotional opportunities for your company or organization, including recognition through tour events, digital platforms, printed materials, and community outreach. Overall, your partnership will do more than place a book into a young person’s hands. It will help deliver a message that could change the direction of their life.
